Kick‐off Meeting in Madrid (4 – 7 September 2018)

The project started officially on 1st September and therefore the project partners met at the first joint meeting (KoM) in Madrid. The meeting was held by the coordinator of the project at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). More than 100 delegates met at the E.T.S.I. de Telecomunicación Campus Sur UPM in Madrid and debated how to work together and getting a common view of AFarCloud.

The goals of the meeting were common understanding of scenario and technical needs, analysis of the DoW, risk identification and challenges of AFarCloud.

The meeting was launched by the project coordinator José-Fernán Martínez (UPM). After a brief introduction, he devoted himself to the vision of the project, AFarCloud overall aim and objectives and future tasks.

First day were short non-commercial presentations of all partners about their involvement and roles in the project and WP leaders introduced their packages, AFarCloud’s work plan overall strategy and methodology.

From the second day took place parallel sessions, defining use cases – storyboards local and holistic demonstrators workshops and technical sessions.

The last day was held 1st AFarCloud General Assembly and Steering Committee Meeting with the participation of Project Coordinator and Country Coordinators (Partner representatives).

And finally, the conclusions of the first project meeting from the Project Coordinator and WP Leaders.

The Kick‐off Meeting was a great opportunity to meet and know the project partners and to merge at a deeper level during meetings and social events.
